Every design begins as a concept inspired by nature, Sami’s Indian culture and mythology.
“I have always been mesmerised by the natural world and it provides me with an abundance of inspiration for my jewellery designs. Nature is never still; it is constantly transforming to reveal new colours, shapes and sounds. Nature excites me and awakens my creative spirit with it’s unexpected beauty.
My love for my Indian culture began from a young age and continuously inspires my designs. The colours are intense, the rituals are steeped in history, and the fashion boasts a meticulous yet vivacious craftsmanship. My favourite quote that sings so true to India’s spirit is “India is a place where color is doubly bright. Pinks that scald your eyes, blues you could drown in” by Kiran Millwood Hargrave.
Mythology has a magically timeless charm. I love to immerse myself in the enchanting chronicles of the greats and legends. My designs are inspired by magical and animistic beliefs, creating jewellery pieces that come to life through the stories that they represent.”
At Sami Jewellery, we are passionate about celebrating traditional Indian craftsmanship. Our core values are:
A combination of lab-grown and natural gemstones. Sami partners with small-scale mines whenever possible, in order to limit the environmental impact on local communities.
Ethical workshops and mines, with safe working conditions, fair pay, equal gender rights and no child labour. All of our stones are sourced from non-conflict zones.
10% of profits from each sale are donated to Future Hope, a charity providing a classroom education for children living on the streets and in slums across India.
